That's basically always my approach, even for simple things like Stalkers in kelp beds. Ended it with a Scanner room at the bottom so I knew exactly where stuff was so I could dash out, grab it quickly, and dash back in before the horde could reach me. Every now and then I'd put a little multiroom for a waystation (and to add reinforcement panels). When I noticed that you could build tubes from inside tubes I asked "how far out can I take these things?" So I started in a much safer zone, then slowly but surely worked my way out towards the more dangerous areas. Nah, the whole idea was to minimize exposure to them while still getting access to their resources.

Chalk that up to Sandsharks being one of the absolute worst designed and buggiest creatures in the current build, plus general bugginess causing them to show up where they aren't supposed to be.You built a seabase in reaper territory? That's pretty ballsy. They're too tough and too numerous, and they aren't distracted or bribe-able like the Stalkers. There are no easy solutions to Sandshark swarms early game when you still need your pod. If you can't fix your pod (it will go back to where it started, slowly), or that isn't the problem, best to start over. If they're the armored wide-mouthed looking things, those are Sandsharks, and either your pod has drifted way too far, or their buggy spawning and leashing has caused them to come live near you. but who in their right mind is going to go stick a flashlight in a hungry shark's face for the 10+ seconds it takes to scan one while they eat your face? Nobody, that's who. If you scan one with the scanner it gives you a hint.

Not having a hint about bribing stalkers is the #1 biggest brick-wall issue for new players in this game. Don't try to knife them while they're "tame' they'll still fight back.

Bribe them by holding a live fish in your hand like a tool, and they'll take it instead of biting you, then refrain from biting you for the rest of the day or so. Think of it like a Killer Whale.Īs for sharks around your pod, if they're the dolphin/barracuda "snaggle-tooth" looking things, those are Stalkers. There isn't much you can do before getting a Stasis Rifle if you're "on foot" and one sees you. Teeth are required for seabase components, so win-win there.īest to try not to go swimming without a vehicle in Reaper territory. On the note of metal scraps, they like to play with them, so that's another way to distract them, and sometimes they'll drop teeth while doing it. They'll take fish out of your hand, and turn temporarily friendly, sometimes even bringing you metal scraps. The other way to deal with stalkers is to bribe them. You can eventually kill them if you keep at it, but it's typically a waste of time.

The first is the uallly they give up on attacking after one or two jabs. Stalkers on the other hand, while dangerous.there are two ways to deal with them. Once you get a cyclops, they can't hurt you unless you leave the sub. Reapers are meant to be avoided, not killed. Reapers are only found over open dunes, and around the aurora. Usually it's over an area like safe shallows or kelp forest.maybe grand reef, typically somewhere that the worst you run into is stalkers, maybe a sandshark or bleeders. Each time you start the game, your pod is going to be in a slightly different location.
